Extended Day Program

¹ú²ú̽»¨ joeys education extended day program maximising potential

¹ú²ú̽»¨â€™ Extended Day Program is a learning innovation unique to the College, and is available to all students. It gives boys the opportunity to stay back after school and participate in co-curricular activities and study under the full supervision of teachers and tutors until 8.00pm.

It has proved to be extremely popular, with more than 80 per cent of day boys taking up the program, where they develop a structured routine that will serve them well into the HSC and beyond. It also further develops collaborative working habits and a spirit of academic camaraderie. Because boys are supervised by teachers onsite, they can iron out problems and prep for their lessons the following day.

It is just one of the many ways ¹ú²ú̽»¨ staff go the extra mile to ensure each student achieves his academic potential. It is also why the College is at the forefront in the delivery of quality education.

An ideal study setting.

Students are surrounded by good role models, in a study setting the encourages them to apply themselves. All boys are taught how to manage their time, develop a study schedule and hone research skills. If they experience problems, they can access tutors who are registered and vetted by the College.

¹ú²ú̽»¨ - an ideal study setting

The advantages for students of a structured, disciplined study program seamlessly blended into the school day are enormous, but there are also many pluses for parents. The Extended Day Program affords peace of mind and releases parents from the responsibilities of monitoring homework habits.

¹ú²ú̽»¨ joeys education extended day program guidance and support

¹ú²ú̽»¨â€™ extended school day enables students – full and weekly boarders and day boys – to study until 8.00pm, uninterrupted by home travel or screen distractions. Onsite homework support through the Learning Enrichment faculty makes sure that study time is taken full advantage of.

Support also comes from the boys’ own networks: from day one, students are encouraged to work collaboratively and exchange ideas. Taking a collegiate approach enables boys to engage as a team and learn how to solve problems.

Guidance and support.

Studying alongside my peers, sharing ideas, had a significant impact on my success – knowing I wasn’t facing challenges alone.
