¹ú²ú̽»¨ about welcome united in faith

For more than 140 years, St Joseph’s College has guided boys to become confident, intelligent and compassionate young men who will make a difference to their community and always strive to live a life of meaning and of service to others.

Founded by the Marist Brothers in 1881, our Catholic faith is central to our College. The Marist values of humility, presence, simplicity, love of work, family spirit and the way of Mary inform everything we do. We strive to provide a quality education that draws faith, culture and life into harmony; an environment where students develop skills in tandem with a sense of social justice.

United through faith.

We strive to provide a quality education that draws faith, culture and life into harmony.

Enriched by community spirit.

Our deeply engaged community – comprising current and past parents, staff, current students and Old Boys – share common goals, faith and camaraderie. This sense of belonging is bolstered by the encouragement we offer one another. It is a humbling experience and a true honour to witness.

The true measure of a Joe-Boy’s success is how he backs up his words with actions, leaving a legacy that will shape the aspirations of those boys who follow – always striving for better.

¹ú²ú̽»¨ about welcome community spirit

St Joseph’s College exists to help boys – entrusted to us by their families – find genuine fulfilment, happiness and security in their lives. Our support and encouragement goes far beyond the time students leave us at graduation. As a community, we take great joy and strength from our lasting relationships with our Old Boys and their families.

We are the largest boys’ boarding school in the country, bringing together a diversity of students from different backgrounds. The cherished city–country connection is one of the defining features of ¹ú²ú̽»¨ life. Boys who hail from across Sydney learn, grow and form lifelong friendships with boys and their families from rural and regional Australia.

a place where lifelong friendships are forged.

Determined, curious, resilient.

I am inspired every day by those determined and curious Joe-Boys who exceed their own goals, lift their grades and achieve personal bests. These triumphs are shared by their peers, families and staff – they are stories of resilience and growth that exemplify ¹ú²ú̽»¨â€™ spirit.

The many aspects of our rich history – in faith, boarding, boys’ education and more – are lived each day at the College. We welcome you warmly.
